Safety when playing with gel blasters

Shopify API

Gel blasters are designed as a safe toy. With a few basic rules, they're significantly lower-risk than airsoft, paintball, or even frisbee. Here's everything you need to know.

Rule #1: Always eye protection

Gel balls are soft and break apart on impact, but they still don't belong in your eye. Protective goggles are mandatory for every player and any bystander nearby.

Every Blastero blaster includes goggles in the box. If you need more, you'll find them in accessories.

Rule #2: Don't play alone

Always play with at least one other player who knows what they're doing. Solo backyard fun is fine, but full battle scenarios require at least two players.

Rule #3: Set ground rules

Before every game, agree with your crew on:

  • Field boundaries — where in-play, where out
  • Minimum engagement distance — we recommend 3 meters for frontal shots
  • The "out" signal — how to call a hit
  • No face shots at close range

Rule #4: Age-appropriate

EU regulations recommend a minimum age of 14. Younger children can play under a parent's supervision — we also carry smaller blasters (like the Deagle Skull) designed for younger players.

Rule #5: Respect the environment

Our gel balls are fully biodegradable — they break down in a few weeks. That doesn't mean you can leave them anywhere:

  • Never fire at animals, birds, or into ponds
  • Don't play on someone else's land without permission
  • In parks and public spaces, respect local rules

And finally — have fun

Safety rules aren't there to kill the fun. They're there to make sure the fun lasts. Stick to the basics and gel blasters will become your favorite backyard sport.
