Gel blasters are designed as a safe toy. Stick to a few basic rules and they're significantly less risky than airsoft, paintball, or even frisbee. Here's everything you need to know.
Rule #1: Always wear eye protection
Gel balls are soft and break apart on impact, but they still don't belong in an eye. Protective eyewear is mandatory for every player and any spectator standing nearby.
Every Blastero blaster includes goggles in the box. If you need more, you'll find them in accessories.
Rule #2: Don't play alone
Always play with at least one other player who knows what they're doing. Solo fun in the garden is fine, but full battle scenarios need at least two players.
Rule #3: Set the rules of the game
Before every game, agree with your crew on:
- Field boundaries — where's in, where's out
- Minimum shooting distance — we recommend 3 metres for frontal shots
- The "out" signal — how to call a hit
- No close-range face shots
Rule #4: Right age
EU regulations recommend a minimum age of 14. Younger kids can play under parental supervision — we also have smaller blasters (like the Micro Skull) designed for younger players.
Rule #5: Respect the environment
Our gel balls are fully biodegradable — they break down in a few weeks. But that doesn't mean you can leave them everywhere:
- Never shoot at animals, birds, or ponds
- Don't play on someone else's property without permission
- In parks and public spaces, respect the local rules
And finally — have fun
Safety rules aren't here to kill the fun. They're here to make sure the fun lasts. Stick to the basics and gel blasters will be your favourite backyard sport.
